Well, the summer trips have come to a close and I hit the ground running with the start of our 3 1/2 weeks of Directors Meetings the next day! We started out our time (6 Area Directors and our Executive Director) with a real treat…a few days in South Padre. Our days consisted of meetings interspersed with pool and beach time. It was rough! 🙂 During these past few weeks we have been doing a major overhaul to the website, talking Merge logistics talking about the future direction of Merge. This included a few days with Dan Pietrzyk from the denomination talking about and solidifying our core values. It was a really excellent couple of weeks and I have been learning a lot of the in’s and out’s of Merge. The website is starting to really take form, so that’s exciting for me. There have been times in the past in which I have regretted taking so long to let the Lord direct my life, but these past few weeks I have reflected on how thankful I am that I can now use my “former life’s work” (graphic design) in my much better life now!

Yesterday we had a fantastic time picnicking and playing water volleyball at Christian’s house. We then had our last “official” meeting with Andrew. After this month, he and Jen will be taking off for a few months of trekking through the US, going on their anniversary trip to Europe and then making their home in Chicago. Andrew has done such a fantastic job and he will be missed in his official Merge capacity.

Tomorrow, we leave for Monterrey, Mexico, where we will end our Directors Meetings with the missionaries from Mexico. A few of us are staying over a day or two more and going to Saltillo with Ellen and Oscar. They are the other new area directors and it will be fun to see where they live.

I am still in the guest house for now! Things are shaping up for language school and it should be a great couple of weeks, including more website work, deep sea fishing and getting to see Billy! More later!
