On Saturday we said goodbye to our first team and drove back to the “base” to rest for the coming week. Yesterday (Sunday) we went to Mario’s church for Sunday School and worship. We got there at 9:30 and didn’t leave until 1:30, so none of this “hour and fifteen” talk about worship! 🙂

After church, we came back and rested and then crashed the party of another team who is staying at the orphanage. We got to hang out with some of the other Merge family and went swimming and helped dole out pizza to over 100 people from the orphanage, church and mission team. It was a great afternoon!

Today after fighting with my stomach since around 5 a.m., (fun times!) we left to go Mario’s house where we cleaned out a tool shed. Picture all of your relatives dumping their unwanted things in your shed and THAT’S what we got to clean out! It was hard work, but it’s nice to be able to see a noticeable difference! We will be moving all of the Merge tools and supplies to this toolshed when we are finished cleaning it out and fixing it. We laughed pretty hard every time Emily would find a cockroach and when I picked up a cinderblock and about 10 cockroaches came running out. I dropped the block and we all screamed. Pretty funny…We then got to partake in burning a bunch of stuff that is totally contrary to my environmental mind…hummm

Fabi (Mario’s wife) made us a great lunch and is planning on making lunch again tomorrow! Thank you, Lord, for great Mexican cooks! Tomorrow night we are going to help the staff at the orphanage make a farewell dinner for their team and Wednesday we are taking a fieldtrip to McAllen to Target!!! More adventures to come…Hugs to home!
